Black Friday marks the seventh anniversary at Pittsburgh’s Maggie’s Farm Rum and the distillery is celebrating with FIVE different releases.

And it isn’t just rum being released this year. Maggie’s Farm is releasing two eau de vie-style brandies (pear and blueberry), two rums (single-barrel and vanilla flavored), plus the seasonal favorite, Peppermint Coffee Liqueur.

The brandies are both fermented from recent farm pressings and crafted to retain as much fruit flavor and aroma as possible. 375 ml bottles of the pear brandy and blueberry brandy are available for curbside pickup or shipping across Pennsylvania.

Inquirer’s Craig LaBan Lists PA Spirits Among His Holiday Choices

The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Craig LaBan lists Dad’s Hat’s Straight Rye and Manatawny’s Bottled in Bond in his list of the best whiskeys to buy this holiday season.

LaBan notes that age is helping both distilleries out, noting Dad’s Hat has recently bumped its Straight Rye from three to four years of age. He also notes that in Manatawny’s case, “[t]ime in a barrel is paying off for this rising distillery from Pottstown. “

Rowhouse Debuts 4-Year Old Brandy and Nocino

One of the best things about craft spirits is seeing how releases change over time. And has the industry gets beyond the baby stage, the changes can be dramatic. It’s what makes Rowhouse Spirits’ four-year old brandy such a worthwhile spirit to seek out. Distiller Dean Browne is releasing a four-year old version of his PA Brandy made with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Quantities will be extremely limited.

Look for the brandy at Browne’s Frankford Avenue distillery in Kensington.
